Pastor’s Pen – Riding the Wave

It’s a clear day, and you can see for miles. You find yourself standing on the very edge of a small, wooden platform. You are holding on to a handle of some kind, about to trust a harness around your waist to hold your weight as you take that final step off the platform, and over the forest below. It is exhilarating! You feel alive, and you struggle to take it all in. Very soon you are on another wooden platform, but you are keen for the next jump.

I am sure we all have incredible stories just like this. In your story you may be jumping out of a perfectly good plane, climbing a sheer cliff and then abseiling down that same cliff, or it may be that feeling as you ride down the face of a wave, almost at one with your surrounds.

I want to paint that picture to encourage you. This is how I think it is meant to be for us, when we – God’s people – are the CHURCH; when we give ourselves over to letting God be in charge, and letting Him guide us and move through us. Together, let’s ride God’s wave, and see the impact it has on our community.

God bless,

Dony
