What did you pray about this week? Just the usual? Maybe something significant? Was your prayer answered?
In concluding our series on prayer, this morning we will look at what Jesus says about prayer in John 14. Jesus’ words to his disciples in this passage is a source of both hope and confusion. Jesus promises that He will answer their prayers if they pray “in Jesus’ name”. This gives us hope for the things we pray for… but what about the times we pray for things and nothing happens? Is Jesus going back on his word?
Reading the Bible in context is very important, and as we read this passage in context this morning, we can understand better what it means to ask for things “in Jesus’ name”, and learn to pray more effective prayers.
