Abraham

This week we are starting a new series on some of the well-known names in the Old Testament, starting with Abraham.

Hopefully, as we revisit these familiar stories, we will see new details or understand them in a deeper way. These stories are full of details that we only see when we meditate on them because that is the way the authors intended us to read these texts.

The story of Abraham being told to sacrifice Isaac foreshadows another story of a willing son, carrying the wood that will be used for his own sacrifice up the hill, but this time no ram takes the sons place; this son takes the place of us all.
