God’s Mission, Our Mission – Home Groups

It’s easy to see the church as a building, whether it’s an amazing architectural masterpiece or a warehouse. People say ‘we’re going to church’ all the time, so it’s easy to think about the ‘bricks and mortar’. But the church is not a building. The church often meets in a building, but church is really the people. When Jesus said that the world would know His followers by their love for one another, he was referring to the people. Buildings that show their love for one another would indeed be remarkable, but not much help to us! Home groups are a vital cog in the wheel of that love that Jesus was talking about. Some would say that they are the wheel. So what are these ‘Home Groups’?
