Are you ready for a journey?
All over the world there are people asking these sorts of questions:
- What is a 21st century church?
- How does God want us to grow?
- Are we ready for the next step? How do we get equipped? Another staff member? What sort of staff member?
- If we are not called to remain comfortable what could that look like?
Some have have gone full on for home groups, others have developed multiple campuses. Some have become very missional, others have even developed ministry centres in schools, retirement villages, universities, childcare centres, movie cinemas, coffee shops, and restaurants. Still others have looked at the way instead of the place, re-examining the theology behind ‘church, and being the church’.
There are some, however, who have considered it too difficult, and withdrawn into their safe four walls, continuing only with what they already knew how to do.
Where is God leading us? I have a dream… do you also have a dream? I have this big, big God, challenging me with the way He finishes the book of Acts, and then follows it up with these words:
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work in us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus though out all generations for ever and ever Amen.
Where to from here? I don’t know, but I am 100% confident that it is going to be something amazing. Are you ready for a journey?
