Asking the right questions

14 August 2020

It’s important to ask the right questions. Often when we have disagreements in our house, we try to sit down and ask the right questions to find out why each of us feel the way we do.

Jesus was great at asking questions. Sometimes they were an invitation for people to express their failings and needs to Jesus, other times they were about asking people to go back to scripture, and other times they were challenging people on their fear or their lack of faith.

The biggest question Jesus asks, however, is the one he asked of his disciples in Matthew 16: “Who do you say that I am?” Peter responded in faith, acknowledging Jesus’ deity and kingship. This set Peter on a path of living for Jesus everyday, and knowing that in Jesus, is life to the full.

May we all, like Peter, declare that Jesus is the Christ, and find life in his name. (John 20:31)
