A common thread

29 November 2019

As we continue in our journey with the Jesse Tree series, we come to Mary, a young Jewish girl who just wants to know God and be obedient to Him. She receives an incredible message from an angel, and her response is “Here I am, the Lord’s humble servant. As you have said let it be done to me.”

WOW, what a response. Obedience flowing from a young lady with everything to lose, however in God, everything to gain. I can see a common thread in God’s Plan of Salvation.

Noah: Come, let’s build an Ark with lots of animals. OK
Abraham: Come, let’s go to a new land. OK
Moses: Go, tell Pharaoh to let my people go. OK
Rahab: Hide the enemy of your people. OK
Joshua: Go, fight the battle of Jericho with Praise and a Shout. OK
Esther: Go, stand before the King and plead for your people. OK

There are so many more we could add to this thread.

So, to put it simply, it seems that all you need to do is be available to God and then say “Yes.”

When we hear the Lord’s voice, why not say “Yes!” and see what He can do?

Only Jesus,
